When all else fails, education succeeds. At least that is what we want to think. Some people find comfort in the friends they have at school, but when you are the new kid, it is difficult to find the same comfort in people you once had. That is how sophomore Chris Spenelli feels about his new home, where one of the only things he likes is the nature in his new home of Georgia.

“I’ve just always liked trees; I think they’re cool,” Spenelli said.

Spenelli and his family moved to Georgia last summer to be closer to family, and so his father would have better opportunities as an electrician.

“I have a lot of family down here. My mom’s side of the family is here in Georgia, and my dad has a lot of family in Florida, so we get to be closer to them,”

Some of Spenelli’s hobbies include taking pictures of nature and putting them on his Instagram nature fanpage and reading classic novels.

“I love the writing style, and I like the words the books use. They help expand my vocabulary,” Spenelli said.

While he looks forward to the next three years of his life here at Etowah, Spenelli is excited to graduate and return to his home state of New York.
