Signing up for the future
This morning five Etowah athletes committed to attend college to further both their academic and athletic careers. Committing for baseball, Blaise Fischer will hit home runs at Newberry College in South Carolina; Adam Metivier will play baseball for The Georgia College & State University team. Football standouts, Raymone Devezin and Porfiro Acosta will hit the college gridiron next season. Devezin will play at West Georgia, and Acosta has committed his football future to Wingate University in North Carolina. For track and field, Jonathan Estrada will call Spring Hill College in Alabama home beginning in the fall while Cole Sutphin will take his skills to Berry College.
“I was very excited to officially sign to GCSU. It’s been a day I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. I loved everything about the school when I visited,” Metivier, senior, said.
Etowah is excited to watch these athletes continue their successes as they begin the next phase of their lives. Congratulations to all students who signed with a college this morning.
