With summer 2024 quickly approaching, many Etowah High School students are looking forward to the fun activities that comes with the season, a big one being the multitude of concerts. Living in what is known as the ‘deep south,’ many have a big love for country music, especially during the summertime.
For many years, one of the biggest names in country music has been Luke Bryan. With his involvement in the singing show, “American Idol,” as well as his music making and tours, tons of people know and love him. Although Etowah’s summer break will have ended, the season will remain and many students—especially those getting ready for college—can enjoy Bryan on his Mind of a Country Boy Tour, which he will perform alongside Bailey Zimmerman, Kameron Marlow, and Chayce Beckham’s music. On Aug. 17, 2024, students can grab their friends and head to Braves’ nation for a country music night at Truist Park.
“I want to go to Luke Bryan’s concert in the summer because he is just iconic. If you have seen any of his shows online or in person, you know he is very entertaining and just a super fun person on stage. The atmosphere seems like it is just the definition of a fun night with your friends, especially in the summer,” Ashley Miller, senior, said.
Last summer, Jason Aldean came to Georgia for a concert, and this year, yet again, Aldean will be heading here in July. Students can take a little trip down to Savannah on July 25 to attend a night on Aldean’s Highway Desperado Tour at Enmarket Arena. Not only would fans be able to listen to Aldean’s songs, but Lauren Alania, Chase Matthew, Austin Snell, and Dee Jay Silver will be performing, as well.
“I really enjoy country music, and I went to Jason Aldean last summer, and it was really fun, so I would love to go to another one this year,” Addison Bishop, sophomore, said.
For as long country lovers can remember, Tim McGraw has been quite the star, and this year, on June 14, 2024, one can see him perform live in Atlanta. Many students are hoping to drive down to Atlanta to see McGraw on his Standing Room Tour, as well as Carly Pearce at State Farm Arena.
“I would love to go to a Tim McGraw concert because I love country music, and he is such a big country name, and I have also grown up loving his music,” Hayden Raffield, junior, said.
Bryan, Aldean, and McGraw are just a few of the concerts that are taking place in summer 2024, and one can buy tickets for these events on Ticketmaster.
