Never too late to watch these killer movies

Halloween may be a memorybut it is not too late to spend nights cuddled under blankets, bake sweet treats, and watch scary movies 

Seasonal classics movie include “Hocus Pocus,” which has a witchy plot with a group of teens who save the day, or “The Nightmare before Christmas, a fall movie about the adventures of Jack the Pumpkin.  

I absolutely love ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas for the macabre atmosphere. Everything is dark and dreary until we get into the Christmas setting,” Rachel Kennedy, junior, said. 

More kidfriendly classics include It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” a fall special where Linus is awaiting a visit from the Great Pumpkin“Coraline, where a young girl finds a doorway to a parallel world, and “Casper, a friendly ghost who kindly “haunts a mansion.  

For those who love a good scaretwo new movies that leave viewers on edge are “The Silence of the Lambs,” a gory movie about a psychiatrist who is also psychopathic serial killer, or “Insidious,” about a demonic possession. 

“The best horror movie is ‘The Silence of the Lambs.’ It is something I watch probably every Halloween,” Matthew Creighjunior, said. 

For those looking for a fresh scare, horror movies being released are “Come Play,” where a family attempts to save its son from an unknown creature that contacts him through his electronic devices, and “Behind You.”  

“’Behind You’ seemed really intriguing from just watching the trailer; I will be watching it when it is released. I am excited what new horror movies 2020 will bring,” Connor Greene, sophomore, said. 

This season is not only about moviesthough, with many sinister TV shows“The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” is a spin-off of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. The first three seasons include Sabrina conquering problems and uncovering her real family history. The fourth season is planned for release by the end of the year.  Other shows available on Netflix that fit the spooky spirit are, “Stranger Things, “The Haunting of Hill House, and Bates Motel. More shows are found on Amazon Prime such as, “The Boys” and “The Past is Dead.” 

“’The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ is my favorite show to watch during the fall because it gets me excited for. . .the holiday season,” Sarah Mahoney, senior, said. 

Onscreen entertainment is one of the best ways to enjoy fall, so grab a friend, some spooky snacksand get ready for a monster movie marathon.
