As some students pack bags to head out of town for Thanksgiving break, others are shopping Black Friday deals for bigger pants to wear after stuffing their faces from their Thanksgiving meals. After eight long weeks of school, Etowah students, teachers, and staff are ready for a break.

“I’m excited to go to Nevada and spend time with family I haven’t seen in a while,” Grace Cronkright, senior, said.

While some students are travelling across the nation for the holidays, others will be taking quick trips to various cities around the area.

“My family is renting a cabin in Gatlinburg […] I’m especially excited for Dollywood and staying in the cabin,” Devyn Hall, freshman, said.

Though some will be leaving Towne Lake to celebrate Thanksgiving, many students will be at home for the holiday. According to the results of a recent Instagram poll, 90 out of 136 Etowah students voted that they will be staying home rather than going out of state over the break. For some students who are homebound over break, Black Friday shopping is something to look forward to.

“I like staying home and spending time with my family, and shopping for gifts for other people,” Nina Velasco, sophomore, said.

Overall, Thanksgiving break is the perfect opportunity to relax and spend time with family. No matter where everyone spends their break, the Talon wishes everyone a fun and safe holiday.
