Living the life as a father and solider, Mr. Ball hired Allen Whitehart the summer before the 2016-2017 school year. He has been teaching for over 11 years; before that he was in the health and fitness industry. He continues to strive as a person and father to his two young children.

“I am a coach and teacher at my core,” Whitehart said.

Before becoming a coach and teacher here at Etowah High School, he was the head coach of Buford High School boys’ basketball team in Gwinnett County. He became the head coach of the boys’ varsity basketball team and has been working hard since the start of the summer to push and build these young men to their best ability.

“I am expecting big things out of this group of young men; they have been working hard since June getting ready for the season,” said Whitehart.

While still maintaining the life of a father and coach, Whitehart always keeps the “Ooooh Rah!” close to heart. Before going into the health and fitness industry, he served in the United States Marines.

“I enjoy teaching at Etowah because of the pleasant faculty and the quality of the kids,” Whitehart said.

Whitehart teaches U.S. History, and hopes to make a difference in the lives of his students and his team. He believes everyone has potential, and they all have to just work for that potential.
