Broadway or bust?

Thespian, journalist, student. What do all these things have in common? An everyday teenager named Garrett Estes. His optimistic personality can drown someone’s pessimistic one. If he is not talking about “Hamilton” with his friends, he is making cheesy jokes.

“I’m a big fan of Broadway and theater and a lot of musicals in general,” Estes said.

Estes joined drama club because of his love for acting and musicals, and wants to pursue a career as a Broadway actor. He saw his first live musical over the summer, “Wicked;” however, the musical he loves the most is “Hamilton.” It inspires him because it is not a traditional musical, and it is the musical he would want to be in most.

Estes said he needs a back-up plan just in case being an actor does not to work out.

“I would want to be Secretary of State because people have to like you to be president,” Estes said.

Estes is aware that being president of the United States requires being liked by many people. He feels he would not be a well-like candidate, so his solution is being Secretary of State.
