What went down by the stars
“Geostorm,” directed by Dean Devlin, is a fantastic movie for those who enjoy action, suspense, and drama.
“I thought it was cool, but I don’t think it would be so cool if I was in it,” Anthony Campagna, sophomore, said.
“Geostorm” is about a girl named Hannah, played by Talitha Bateman, explaining how her father helped save the world. In the introduction, she explains how the earth is killing itself. Bateman’s onscreen father is an astronaut played by Gerard Butler; his character created an abundance of satellites that protect the planet from deadly storms and climate changes.
Although the satellites seemed to be working well, they eventually begin to fail. Various parts of the globe begin to experience glitches, random freezes in the desert, and tidal waves the size of the tallest buildings crashing down on cities. This is only the beginning. No one can figure out why this is happening.
When Jake (Butler) returns to space to sort out the satellites, he encounters something unexpected.
“The movie looks very entertaining, and it would definitely keep you on the edge of your seat,” Kennedi Hamilton, sophomore, said.
This movie is well worth the ticket price. It is a fascinating flick with a dramatic plot that will keep you glued to your seat from the first scene. “Geostorm” is in theaters now.
