Brace yourself, summer is coming
Similar to how the song goes, school is almost out for summer which means it is about time to get rid of the backpacks and grab the beach bags. Many students are already planning to make this summer the best one yet, but it is up for debate which activities are the most fun.
During the summer, students often enjoy being in the water and the sun. This includes simple activities like going to the pool or running through the sprinklers. Others might choose to have a day at water parks, such as White Water or the Cherokee Aquatic Center. Some may enjoy going to the lake and tubing or traveling for the day to go white water rafting.
‘’I love to go to White Water with friends, or kayaking on Allatoona Lake, or watching an outdoor movie with friends while making s’mores, ‘’ Duke Jenkins, sophomore, said.
Summer can also be more than splashing around. Attractions that do not require a bathing suit include theme parks like Six Flags Over Georgia, and sites such as the Georgia Aquarium or Zoo Atlanta. People can also visit the World of Coke and spend the day enjoying the city. All of these attractions allow for great family time and a chance to explore nearby areas.
‘’Visiting locations near me is great because I can explore different parts of Georgia that I have never seen. During the summer, I will visit all kinds of museums and events that I’ve never even gone to, ‘’ Emani Smart, senior said.
Even after the sun goes down, there are many ways students can continue to have. Some great summer activities to do at night include going to the movies, roller skating, mini golfing, and camping. These activities often go unnoticed during the summer, but it is the simplest of plans that can offer the greatest reward.
Although there are many options the best activities to do in the summer time are those done with friends and family. Whether it is having fun in the water or visiting local areas, good summers are defined by who you spend your time with. For college bound seniors this is the last summer before heading off to university.
