What is your favorite part of your school day?

The beginning of the day because I am rip roaring ready to go.

Is there anything you would change about Etowah?

I am disappointed that we lost the Chinese program and since I am a language teacher of course I am biased. I would like to see more languages offered and more trips taken. I would love to see all students buy into the concept that experience and travelling are essential to become globally conscious and appreciative of others. There is something for everyone and for all subjects and students, for example; Germany/England/France for Social Studies, Greece for the classics, Italy for the arts, China for the students taking Chinese, Ireland/England for the Literature classes, England/Germany/Italy for Automotive classes, France/India for cooking, and of course Spanish/French/German speaking countries for the World Language students. There is so much to see and experience and a shame if the opportunity is not afforded to the students.

If you were not a teacher, what would you be?

Funny you should ask, I am retiring this year and I am still thinking about it. I want to travel and chill. But if I didn’t choose teaching as a career I would probably have worked in the business sector translating or working across borders.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of school?

It was Cross fit before my  second foot injury. Now I am taking it easy and figuring out a plan to work on my house and take artsy classes.

If you were to go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I want to go back to Playa Ventura, a few hours south of Acapulco, Mexico. It is isolated and peaceful. There is a tortoise sanctuary and I’m looking forward to learn how I can help the little guys.
