In between a hair salon and an insurance company in downtown Woodstock sits a cozy little building that emits scents reminiscent of a grandmother’s kitchen.

Pie Bar, run by Lauren Bolden, with her husband and CEO Cody Bolden, is one of downtown Woodstock’s newest eateries, offering homemade pies with fresh and local ingredients.

“It’s a really good spot to hang out,” Lauren Bolden said. “We have our comfy couch, we sell Cool Beans coffee, and I believe our pie is reasonably priced.”

Everything in the shop revolves around pie, even the business’s closing time. The doors close when Pie Bar runs out of pies and does not open until the next business day. Lauren Bolden bakes the pies fresh every day.

“The Apple Crumble pie was really good, and reasonably priced,” one customer said. She said the only thing missing was a dollop of ice cream.

The Pie Bar offers a variety of pies, including Apple Cider Pie, Pecan Pie, and Peanut Butter Pie. A whole pie costs about $25, and a single slice is about $4.

Pie Bar also offers monthly tastings of upcoming pies and catering services.

“We sell tickets and customers will taste our pie and decide our menu for the upcoming month,” Lauren Bolden said. “We will have holiday flavors like eggnog, peppermint, and gingerbread.”

For Thanksgiving, Classic Apple Pie, Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie, Chocolate Chess Pie and Pumpkin Pie round out the menu. Thanksgiving orders will be accepted until Nov. 19.

Customers can check out the chic and classy shop’s offerings on their website at www.orderpiebar.com. Recently, the bar was approved for a few outdoor tables, so customers can enjoy their pie in the crisp, fall air while viewing the action of Main Street.

The store lists tentative hours as Tuesday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pie Bar is closed Sunday and Monday.
