Welcome to the nest
In her 16 years of teaching, Jennifer Henderson, new math teacher, has attended multiple colleges and has earned several degrees in math education.
“I didn’t feel like I was quite done [learning],” Henderson said.
Henderson has attended school at The University of Florida, Florida State University, Louisiana MU, Regis University in Colorado, and, currently, Georgia State University. Before transferring to Etowah, Henderson taught at Sprayberry High School in Cobb County.
“I heard great things about Cherokee County,” Henderson said.
Ever since she can remember, Henderson has wanted to be a teacher. Currently, she is teaching AP Statistics, Statistics, and Algebra I. She does not want to be the teacher who stands at the front of the classroom and lectures her students; she wants her students to explore the material they are learning and to grasp a better understanding.
“It’s always what I wanted to do,” Henderson said.
Although she has not been with Etowah for long, Henderson feels like an Eagle already. Welcome to the nest.
