A special addition to Etowah
Although Kristen Morris may be new to Etowah, she is definitely not new to the field of education. In her tenth year of teaching, Morris feels she has found her new home at Etowah.
“I think that [teaching] is just what I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve never thought of doing anything else,” Morris said.
Morris has always felt as if becoming a teacher was what was right for her. So far, Morris has taught three years of general education, four years of co-taught/resource special education, and three years of self-contained special education. She always wants to make sure that she is teaching her students in a way that they can fully understand and wants her class to take away information from her daily lessons.
“I like the relationship you build with the students as a teacher,” Morris said.
So far, Morris is enjoying her time teaching self-contained special education at Etowah. She loves the independence students have as well as the chances they get to explore new opportunities through electives and extracurricular activities. Etowah welcomes Morris and wishes her a great first year.
