With a bench full of new players, comes new coaches. The girls’ lacrosse team has a lot going for it this spring.

“We are loaded this season. We have 14 freshman and several players returning from injuries,” Andy Osborn, girls’ lacrosse coach, said.

Although the coaches made no cuts during tryouts, they evaluated everyone’s skills to see what each girl could contribute to the team, dividing the teams into varsity and junior varsity squads. Swing players play for both squads.

“I am planning on getting much more stick work done with the girls as I join them this season,” Rob Graner, coach, said.

This season, Graner is coming from the JV boys’ lacrosse team to assist Osborn with the girls. Graner has a lot of experience with coaching and lacrosse itself, so this addition will definitely be in the team’s favor. Once basketball season ends, Coach Hatchett will return for her second year on the coaching staff.

“I am really excited to see how much we improve with the new coaches and players coming in this season,” Kelsey Coughlin, senior, said.

This season, the girls’ lacrosse team should be more successful than the last, as they have a much deeper bench and will continue to improve both individually and as a team.
