Take it to the top of the key
With the team’s third new coach in as many years and an unbelievable bond, the varsity boys’ basketball team once again holds another record-breaking season with a current record of 19-2.
“All their success is coming from themselves,” Jason Dasinger, head coach, said.
Before each game, the team prepares by not only practicing, but by watching videos of their opponents. Dasinger studies the movements of other teams in order to draft up a game plan designed to counter-attack their opponents’ plays.
“I do a lot of planning outside of practice, but when we get to practice, we kind of show them what the next team is going to do,” Dasinger said.
Starters for this season include: Jaxon Etter, junior, and seniors: Adrian Cohen, Julian Baldwin, Carter Ingersoll, and Nick Nagy.
“My favorite part about being a starter is the opportunity to start the game on a good note and being able to trust my teammates to keep the lead throughout the game,” Jaxon Etter, junior, said.
This season’s success stems from the team’s tight-knit bond and support from the community. Come out and support the Varsity Eagles at Walton this Friday. The Lady Eagles play at 6 and the boys at 7:30 p.m.
