Behind-the-scenes: EETV
Located in the halls of Etowah is the schools very own television network EETV. The show is advised by Linda Yunker, the audio and video teacher, and the staff produces segments weekly pertaining to what is happening around Etowah.
“My favorite part about EETV is when the students work together and get their pieces done,” Yunker said.
Back in 2010, Yunker originally created Eagle Entertainment Network (EEN). She based the name off of CNN and then changed it.
“My news class voted on what they wanted to call the show, and they chose EETV,” Yunker said.
During fifth period, EETV works hard on editing their segments for that week’s episode. There are four producers: Catelyn Ward, Corey Jeris, Adam Nay, and Jennifer Hernandez. Each producer is in charge of a four-person team and making sure their group gets its piece done quickly and accurately. Yunker is also in charge of the stream team, a group of students who broadcast each football and basketball game, and are also responsible for the jumbotron.
“Being a producer is a great leadership role that shows you the importance of responsibility and being open to new ideas with different people,” Hernandez said.
Every Friday morning during first period, EETV is broadcast to students in order to highlight some of the school’s news and talent.
“My favorite part is probably getting to work with different people and learning more about the school,” Caitlin Radtke, staff member, said.
Each episode contains hard work from each staff member and is meant to entertain the audience while also making sure it is relevant to the Etowah community.
“It’s interesting to see what goes on in our school,” Kristin Dyson, junior said.
The link to EETV’s website is located on Etowah’s homepage under “students,” then in the box “Newspaper and TV.” If you are interested in being a part of the EETV staff, talk to Ms. Yunker in room 1104.
