Before he became the principal of Etowah, Robert Horn was a teacher with a passion for community service. His regulations are based on trying to protect students and guiding the ship that is Etowah. Horn is leading Etowah, and it is up to the students to control the ship. Students are the engine of the ship.

‘’We want to keep them safe and get them educated,’’ Horn said.

Horn wants students to be educated and is also preparing them for their future by instituting things like the CCR bell. He wants teachers teaching class and not writing tardies. Horn also has instituted the one earbud policy which is solely for safety purposes. Horn wants students to focus on their education.

‘’ I will not change something just to change it,’’ Horn said.

Horn wants to see students grow and finds innovative ways to challenge students. He also wants to challenge teachers at Etowah. He wants them to think outside the box. Horn values honesty above everything else and cares a lot about  treating others the way you want to be treated.

Horn believes that your names is your brand as an individual. He is the captain of the ship, but the students steer the ship to better things. He wants to leave Etowah better than when he first arrived.

‘’My job is to guide the ship, I’m not the ship,’’ Horn said.
