Changing with the leaves
The changing leaves and fall festivities signal cool weather, warm sweaters, holiday treats, haunted houses, and pumpkin patches.
“My favorite season is fall because the weather is perfect,” Justice Hunt, senior, said.
Fall is the in-between time of the summer heat and Christmas lights decorating the streets. With Halloween, people are decorating the outsides of their homes with skeletons, mummies, and witches. The haunted houses are busy and the candy corn is in the bowls on kitchen tables. Sometimes people are not crazy about Halloween, but Thanksgiving is just around the corner, too, which means a holiday filled with food. Autumn provides so many reasons to celebrate and have fun.
“No festivities needed… just candy,” Jessica Sprecher, literature teacher, said.
Finding fun fall activities to do, other than eating candy of course, is easy and cheap if you look in the right places. Anything outside during this time of year is pleasant because the weather is perfect, not too hot, but not too cold. Whether you are going on a hike or hammocking in your backyard, most people find that spending every moment possible in the nature during the fall is vital. Even when it cools off at the end of the day, grab a few friends and some s’mores fixings, and you are set for a comfortable bonfire.
“My favorite things to do in the fall are pumpkin carving and decorating my house,” Olivia Weckerle, sophomore, said.
So take on this fall and take advantage of any and every opportunity to embrace the season, cheesy festivities and all. Bake those cookies. Carve those pumpkins, and brace yourself enough to get through those haunted houses. The season is too short to do anything other than enjoy it.
