Did you know a powerful group of students runs this school? And they have the blessing of the  principal? Students in this club set up fundraisers and assemble big events. Welcome to student government association or SGA.  SGA is a student-based organization where students work with different schools and the community. Not only are they responsible for Red Ribbon Week, but they also plan homecoming.

“Homecoming will be a trunk-or-treat type festival on Saturday, October twenty-eighth,” Katie Bishop, SGA president, said.

This organization lets the students at Etowah take charge and feel like they are a part of something. SGA is a great organization to put on a college application.

“I like the SGA because we are a group of students to do service in our school and community,” Duke Jenkins, freshman, said.

Joining the student government association is a great way to help the community and connect to other students who have similar interests as you do. Applications for the upcoming school year will become available in April
