Taking journalism was an obvious choice for Garrett Estes, considering he wants to become a comic writer and film director. He likes the freedom of writing whatever he wants, and enjoys reading comics almost as much as he loves to write. In his second year in journalism, his love for writing only grows.
“There is something freeing about writing; it gives one the freedom to do as they please,” said Estes.
Estes knows he wants to live in a city, any city, even though he is only 15. After all, the city is the best place for an aspiring film director. His love of superheroes has inspired his desire to write comics. Some of his favorite superheroes are The Flash, Superman, and Captain America. His love for superheroes began when he was little because his mom loves superhero movies.
“Writing has always been a mistress of mine. Whether it is film, comics, or anything else, I find myself indulging in it quite a bit,” said Estes.
His love for writing is due to his creative personality. Estes and his good friend Sarah Morgan are working on a top-secret project right now. He will not let anyone know anything about this project; however, you can expect great things.
