Chase Sturgill: modern day nomad
Chase Sturgill, freshman at Etowah, has lived in many parts of the south-eastern portion of the United States, and thinks Georgia may be his final destination.
“Moving every two years was always sad, but I grew used to it after doing it so many times,” Sturgill said.
Originally born in Virginia, Sturgill has lived all over the eastern portion of the United States including: Tennessee, Maryland, Florida, and Georgia, where he hopes to stay.
“It has made me more social and better at making friends,” Sturgill said.
Since his father works in construction, Sturgill has had to move around a lot, but wishes to spend his high school career in one place. Sturgill has had to leave any new friends he may have made, but making new friends made it easier to overcome.
“I have learned to always have family as a high priority,” Sturgill said.
With all of Sturgill’s moving around, he has had little time to spend with his family. He enjoys his grandparents cooking and looks forward to hanging out with his cousins.
“North Georgia is probably the best place for me to live because I love the snow, but enjoy the hot summer,” Sturgill said.
Sturgill loves the diversity of Georgia’s weather. He finds it perfect for playing sports year-round and loves how Towne Lake is packed full of things to do.
