Diving into the aquarium
While many Etowah students experienced Big Fish, the spring musical, honors biology students experienced another type of big fish–or fishes–on their recent field trip to the Georgia Aquarium. For some, the trip was nothing new, but for others, it was a sight to behold.
“The behind-the-scenes tour was fun and interesting,” Jason Rodriguez, freshman, said.
Students went behind the scenes to learn how the aquarium takes care of the animals. They learned how the food is prepared, how the water is kept for the animal’s conditions, and possible career choices for the aquarium.
“The Beluga whales were very cool, and it was fun to watch them,” Sam Rife, freshman, said.
After the tour and lunch, students were allowed to explore the aquarium. Some went to see the dolphin show, and others chose to spend their time exploring. They could see anything from sea otters to penguins, all in the Cold Water Quest exhibit.
No field trip is complete without a visit to the gift shop. Armed with souvenirs and memories, students boarded the busses making it back in time for 7th period.
