Senior Nathan Baker received the perfect score of 36 on the ACT when he took it earlier this school year.
“When I first found out, I was in disbelief, but as it sank in, I felt ecstatic,” Baker said.
One in .108% of all students who take the ACT make a perfect score. That means 2,235 of all 2.1 million students who took the ACT this past year earned a 36.
“I did not do anything specifically to prepare for the ACT though I do acknowledge that this puts me in the minority of people whose studying and scores have little correlation,” Baker said.
Baker is attending Georgia Tech because it is a heavily STEM-oriented school, and it is nearby. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
Scoring well on the ACT is important to universities because admissions officers use scores to determine student readiness for college.
Millions of student in the United States, U.S. territories, Puerto Rico and Canada take the ACT every year. While it may seem impossible to make a perfect score, just try to relax, and try your best. Who knows? Maybe you will be the next perfect score.
