Brackets on brackets
The month where men and women sit on their couches, stare at their phones and compete with their friends and family, it is March Madness. This month all of college basketball battles to compete for the national champions of the NCAA. The NCAA tournaments are a tradition that sends millions of fans into chaos, which gives the tournament its March Madness nickname. March Madness is the hype of 68 teams fighting for college basketball’s biggest prize. It’s the last-second baskets, the joy of winning, and the pain of losing and going home.
Kids and adults in all different ages make brackets to compete against each other. The point of making the brackets is to be challenged to see who will actually go where. Kids and adults make brackets and place each team in a game against another team, in which they also have to choose who will win the game and what team will go on to the next series of games. Adults and kids all around the nation participate for the fun and excitement of the game.
“There were these kids in class who had their phones on trying to watch the games,” Anna Bussey, freshman said.
If you see anyone with their heads down this month looking at their phones, they are most likely, finding the scores or watching the game. Be sure to keep up with the scores and the games, it’s a month full of madness.
