Training with Chester
Brandon Chester is one of Etowah’s new coaches. He teaches personal fitness and weight training. Chester wanted to be a physical education teacher because he loves athletics and teaching students how to have and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
He graduated from Kennesaw State University and coached at Woodstock High School, then Wheeler before coming here
“[I came to Etowah] to come back home,” Chester said.
Chester’s students are always busy. He never fails to push them to work hard.
“Coach Chester is a pretty chill guy, but when it comes down to our workout, he pushes us,” Diana Guerrero, freshman, said.
You can find Coach Chester in the wrestling room beginning in the winter because he coaches wrestling.
“I like the fact that you find out who is really the physically and mentally toughest kids in school, and also the team bond that you see on the wrestling team,” Chester said.
Coaching wrestling is a passion of his, so he looks forward to wrestling season.
“I love working with coach Higdon and the wrestlers on the team. Coach Higdon has taught me a lot about the sport,” Chester said.
Chester feels right at home again. He plans on staying at Etowah coaching and teaching
“I came to Etowah to be an assistant football coach for Svehla and to be a coach Higdon’s assistant wrestling coach. I am happy exactly where I am at,” Chester said.
Chester is eager to help students get up and be active and is looking forward to making a difference in their lives.
