White is the new blue and gold
New Earth Science and Environmental Science teacher, Randy White loved Etowah so much, he is back for the second time.
“As an Etowah alumni, I have always been an Eagle and was excited to get to be a part of our school again,” White said.
Graduating from Kennesaw State and the University of North Georgia. White worked at Etowah and then moved to Creekland Middle School to teach 8th grade science and social studies before coming back to the nest.
“Moving to Creekland allowed me to be closer to my sons, as they were attending Creekview High,” White said.
White makes sure that his students are always on task during his class. He appreciates Etowah’s commitment to excellence while realizing that education extends outside of the classroom through the many activities, clubs, athletics and other competitions available here.
“He’s really cool, and he tries to get everyone involved,” McKenzie Spindler, junior, said.
White has not always been in the classroom. For ten years, he worked in construction management before realizing teaching science is what he wanted to do.
“I could see how much an understanding of science would benefit the people who worked for me in the construction field. The more science skills they had, the better they were at their jobs. Being able to use scientific reasoning benefits people in all walks of life,” White said.
White is excited to be back home and is eager to help his students learn.
