Lindsey Minar is a lover of animals, sports, and students. Now in her second year at Etowah, Minar teaches personal fitness, body sculpting, health and adapted personal fitness. Minar loves every second of teaching at Etowah. Along with handling four classes, she also coaches 9th grade volleyball and assist with the varsity team. Also the head coach for Varsity girls’ soccer.
“This is definitely my home away from home,” Minar said.
Mr. Ball hired Minar right out of college. She loves to teach at Etowah because of the positive learning environment created by the students and teachers.
“The teams I coach are very close to my heart,” Minar said.
Minar has high expectations for the soccer team this year, and she is excited to be coaching and teaching for another year at Etowah. She hopes not only to teach them how to compete, but also how to be successful in life and how to be a good teammate through life. She recently just became part of a new team when longtime boyfriend Hunter Alexander proposed.
“I was in such shock that when he asked me my first response was, ‘What’…?”
Alexander, also a teacher and coach, and Minar recently bought a house. At their house-warming party, Minar was talking to guests when Alexander called her down to bring bread to feed the fish at their pond. As she was walking away from the dock, someone yelled, “Turn around!” as Alexander bent down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
“All of my students are like my kids, I love each and every one of them,” Minar said.
