‘Rumor Has It’ there is a new album
With over 500,000 vinyl copies already produced, Adele’s new album 30 is breaking records. Soon to be released on Nov. 19, the six-year wait for her music is finally over.
“I am most excited about the storytelling aspect of it because she got a divorce. Her past albums were about her love, and this is another aspect of her life,” Ansley Rippey, junior, said.
Adele originally announced that she was going to release the album in June of 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic postponed the process. Because of the delay, she let out her song ‘Easy On Me’ on Oct. 15, 2021 as a teaser for her new music and to help her fans through the wait.
“I think because her music has been on a lot of social media and TikTok, people are starting to listen to it more. As a result, it is gaining popularity, and people are getting more excited after the wait,” Savannah Pullen, freshman, said.
Adele’s previous albums were named for her milestone years. Continuing the trend, her new album 30 will be focusing on specific moments in her life, ranging from her recent divorce to the various hardships she faced during this part of her life.
“30 tried me so hard, but I am owning it and trying my hardest to lean into it all,” Adele wrote in a tweet.
With this being Adele’s first album released since 2015, many students are excited for the much-anticipated announcement.
“Her music is a big part of my childhood, and I have come to connect with her lyrics more as I got older. I am really excited to see what she has brought into this album after six years,” Ryan Kennedy, senior, said.
Whether one enjoys blasting ‘Rolling in the Deep’ or is tired of hearing ‘Hello’ on repeat, be sure to give Adele’s new music a listen.
