Falling in love with the season

Move over “Hot Girl Summer” because autumn is on its way, and I am personally ready for pumpkin spice, sweater weather, and spooky season. Fall is by far the best time of year despite the notion that it is over-hyped and “basic. I wait all year to pull out my hoodies and long sleeves to enjoy the cooler temperatures after the grueling summer heat.

This year pumpkin spice returned to Starbucks earlier than in previous years, so everyone has been able to get a fix before the season has even started. The taste of this autumnal flavoring is not only limited to coffee: stores have also started selling other pumpkinflavored snacks.

As temperatures start to drop, it becomes more acceptable to wear hoodies and sweaters to combat the fall breeze and to mask any remaining tan lines leftover from summer break. The cool, fall weather is refreshing after the humid summer we experienced, not to mention walking across campus will soon become more bearable.

Fall means October is approaching, and October signifies Halloween. The candy is better, and we can go around singing “Spooky Scary Skeletons” while we plan our costumes. Also, we can binge all our favorite Halloween and scary movies without being judged. Fall is not only basic season; it is also spooky season.

Fall may have a reputation of being unoriginal and boring, but many find it to be their favorite season. Take a second and smell the pumpkin spice because it is not going away anytime soon. Well, until peppermint comes.
