As Summer 2019 approaches, so do countless concerts and shows happening right in Atlanta. From musical throwbacks to up-and-coming artists, punk rock to country music, and small concerts to huge festivals, a wide variety of music is available to concert-goers this summer.
“This summer is full of amazing concerts for every type of music, and I’m so excited to get to see my favorite artist, Ariana Grande, perform,” Kali Terza, sophomore, said.
This year, most concerts and festivals are being held in the new Coca Cola Roxy Theatre, State Farm Arena, Cellairis Ampitheatre, Sun Trust Park, Chastain, Infinite Energy, in parks around the ATL, and more. Some people will attend a specific concert solely for location purposes.
“I would really enjoy attending a music festival in Atlanta this summer because I think outdoor concerts are so much fun,” Alec Blanchard, junior, said.

Coachella in Palm Springs, California, was the festival that really kicked off the start of the summer concerts. Most festivals are outdoor venues due to the access of food and shopping throughout the day.
“My sister went to Coachella, and it seemed like such a cool experience,” Kat Kochansky, sophomore, said.
