Bundled in coats and gloves with one earbud in and the other out, one student at Etowah must walk quickly from main to east. The rock in the student’s shoe presses into his foot, and the mud seems to make the shoes they wear lose their traction. The football game on Friday night is the only hope. At the game, the Etowah student body will be led in a roller coaster follow along. The following day is the homecoming festival, where students have the opportunity to play games, eat candy, and win prizes.

When attending Etowah, students have an opportunity create memories that could last a life time. Every student has his or her own remembrance of high school, but there are some memories that only Etowah students would understand.

Many students are wondering why the hole by the East cafeteria keeps recurring. This hole came to be by multiple students at different times which resulted in the wall collapsing. The hole has been fixed but the memory is still present.

As students make their trek from the main to the east campus, they have probably taken an alternate route. Most students cut through the East parking lot instead of following the sidewalk. Part of cutting through the lot is the trouble of walking through rocks. Almost every Etowah student can relate to accidentally stepping on a rock and nearly breaking an ankle.

At football games, pep rallies, and other school events, something that always hypes up the student section is the roller coaster. A student will stand in front of the section and pretend that they are going fast on a roller coaster while flailing their arms in the air. Moving left, moving right, the student section proceeds to follow the students thrashing arm movements until the whole section has turned into a figurative theme park.

Something relatively new to Etowah is the “one in- one out” rule. A rule implemented by Principal Robert Horn, students must have one earbud out of their ear when walking from class to class.

Something everybody knows by now would be the homecoming festival, something only Etowah has. The festival consists of carnival like games with prizes.

The inside jokes never stop flowing here at Etowah. From Etowah to Woodstock, every high school has something unique about it.
