Many Etowah students remember finals week at E.T. Booth: seconds ticking by, hours of sitting in silence, and most importantly no early release. Unlike at E.T. Booth, students have the freedom to leave early during finals week.

“I am excited to get my finals over with and get out of school early,” Addison Syzmanski, freshman, said.

At E.T. Booth, students had finals and had to stay at school the whole day unless their parents came to check them out.  Etowah’s finals week schedule is completely different than E.T. Booth’s.

“I feel like I have more freedom at Etowah, and I like how you can leave whenever,” Mackenzie Muoio, freshman, said.

Preparing for finals in high school is a lot of work for students. Some can prepare the night before, while others need a few weeks of studying and reviewing their material.

“I don’t feel rushed like they made me feel at Booth, and I like how we have four more weeks after Thanksgiving break to prepare for finals,” Collin Sherrer, freshman, said.

Any students hoping to leave school early after completing their finals must turn in a completed permission slip to their first period teacher by Fri. Dec. 14.
