Most members of the varsity football team come from the junior and senior class, but this season, a freshman has garnered attention as running back.

Remi Adams plays varsity and is having an outstanding season. Adams did not have to try out for varsity because coaches noticed him immediately.

‘’He has natural ability. A lot of times I have to teach kids how to be a running back, and I don’t have to teach him. He has it naturally,” Rodney Hunter, running back coach, said.

Football not only allows Adams to make new friends and create memories to look back on, but it also helps him adjust to high school by having his teammates by his side.

“I love benefitting and giving all of my effort towards this team … football makes me happy, along with my teammates,” Adams said.

Adams’s dad, Frank Adams, a former NFL running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers, inspired Remi to play football and pursue it as a career. Adams helps his son refine his athletic skills at his family’s training complex, Xcelerate Sports.

“My dad inspired me because he had a very prosperous career in college football and made it to the NFL, so I want to be where he was, but even better,” Adams said.

Although the football season is coming to an end, Adams still has three more years of high school to look forward to.
