Everyone knows who leads the administrators of the school, but not everyone knows who leads the student body. From organizing homecoming to decorating the hallways, SGA shows their leadership skills throughout the school in every way possible.

“SGA representatives are expected to lead by example and set the tone for the optimum Etowah High School student,” Jenna Doran, SGA junior class president, said.

SGA typically meets once a month but sometimes plans extra meetings when necessary. At these meetings, members talk about upcoming events on their agenda.

“I think meetings once a month when we aren’t busy are effective,” Emily Collins, freshman member, said.

So far, the biggest event planned was homecoming, with the festival and dress up days. Members put posters around the school to help spread the news of upcoming events. Currently, the club is still creating new ideas for Etowah.

“We are brainstorming stuff, but haven’t made anything official,” Caroline Booth, SGA senior class co-president, said.

Here are this year’s officers: Freshmen Morgan Busbee, Eliza Carver, and Ryan Loftland; Sophomores Maggie Bradley, Cole Dallas, Holland Weber, and Sarah Oburu; Juniors Jenna Doran, Rachel Hugenberg, Kristin Denmark, and Hannah Johnson; Seniors Caroline Booth, Tori Ridgeway, Abby Cartwright, Kristin Denmark and Lilly Zamorano.
