This year’s varsity boys’ lacrosse season consists of long hours training and practicing, growing a perpetual bond with the team, and displaying the effort each player gives every day. The team is eager to show off its capability on the field as well as create a status of its own.

“We want to show the potential of Etowah lacrosse and how hard we work,” Broderick Herring, freshman player, said.

In the quest to make it to playoffs, head coach Michael Cintineo named four captains; Justin Sherrer, Donovan Harike, Brian Orr, and Jackson Lambert for the 2018 season. Cintineo has many new strategies that he believes will benefit their season. This is his fifth year as head coach at Etowah, and he wants to make it the best.

“My biggest goal for this season is to improve every game, take one step at a time, and make it to the playoffs,” Cintineo, said.

Cintineo put many new players on varsity to enhance the team qualities and performances. Team members believe that becoming closer will make them more successful working together at games and practices. The athletes bond more, so they are more motivated to further their season.

“Creating an unbreakable bond with the team can also give us a huge teamwork benefit when we work together in games,” Justin Sherrer, junior, said.

The boys’ varsity lacrosse team is excited to show the school the potential it has and the skills each individual player brings to the team. Come support them Friday, Feb. 16 as they take on Kell at home beginning at 7:30.
