Bonjour Woodstock

Bonjour Woodstock

Throughout her childhood, Marine Feron-Leadbeater traveled thousands of miles between her home country, France, and the United States, but she has now landed in Georgia for good as Etowah’s newest 9th grade Advanced Literature Composition teacher.

“I moved to Woodstock in 2021 because I wanted to work closer to home and have a smaller district and more personal community,” Feron-Leadbeater said.

While her homeland is France, Feron-Leadbeater spent much of her childhood commuting between Europe and California due to her father’s job. She seized the opportunity to stay in the U.S. when she got the chance to pursue a 13-month virtual teaching program at the University of Southern California. Afterwards, she earned her teaching degree at Georgia State University and her doctorate degree at Georgia College. She then launched her teaching career at Dunwoody High School before later transitioning to Etowah.

“I would not say I have had to make very many adjustments [moving to Etowah] other than more walking. Everybody here [Etowah] has been super great and supportive,” Feron-Leadbeater said.

Since she relocated, Feron-Leadbeater has been involved in Woodstock’s community as a patron of service dedicated to veterans. Since college, Feron-Leadbeater has been participating in the ‘9/11 Heroes Run’—an annual 5k that takes place on Sept. 9th to commemorate military workforce, first responders, and veterans.

“All the proceeds go towards veterans. I also used to work with an animal rescue that helped train service animals for veterans,” Feron-Leadbeater said.

Feron-Leadbeater has thrown her passion for the community into all her endeavors, including those that take place in room EE134.
