Lines are starting to form. People are getting antsy. Memories of Thanksgiving are already fading. Black Friday has arrived. Although online shopping has become a trend, Black Friday still brings hordes of people to many stores for good deals.

On Black Friday, one might wonder how many TVs the average household needs after seeing all of them fly out the doors. One place where shoppers can get numerous TVs, and other electronics, is Best Buy. Best Buy also has many deals on Apple products, computers, and laptops. Looking to get a head start on the discounts? The doors open on Nov. 28 at 5 p.m.

“I go to Best Buy because it is the best place to go for electronics,” Will Cruttenden, sophomore, said.

For those looking for clothing deals, American Eagle is offering 40% off storewide on Black Friday. American Eagle offers the same discounts online for those who prefer shopping from the comfort of home to avoid the Black Friday chaos.

Target is offering a wide variety of gifts for the holidays with sales on TVs, Nintendo Switches, Google Homes, Beats headphones, and the iPhone 11 Pros. Other deals include household appliances such as the Dyson vacuum cleaners, Keurig coffee brewers, Instant Pots, Kitchen Aid mixers, and blenders. When looking for a plethora of items, Target could fulfill this need.

For Black Friday shopping, I like to go to American Eagle and Target because they usually have the best deals,” Caroline Kapcsos, junior, said.

Walmart is another chain with a large selection of discounted items. The retail giant is discounting TVs, Apple Watches, iPads, iPhones, Samsung phones, Air Pods, virtual reality sets, PS4s, Beat headphones, speakers, laptops, printers, cameras, Xbox ones, PS4s, and Nintendo Switches. Walmart is also offering many deals on kids’ toys, and make sure to look for sales on household appliances from blenders, griddles, coffee brewers, kitchen solutions sets to fryers, toaster ovens, and vacuums, as well.

“I like to go to Walmart because the selection has really cheap stuff in it,” Lauren Giesler, sophomore, said.

Brooklynn’s, a local boutique in Woodstock and Towne Center Mall, also participates in the holiday. This year, the store is offering a fifty dollar gift card for every hundred dollars spent.

For super shoppers still looking for a place to shop even after the Black Friday madness ends, Macy’s is the way to go. Macy’s sales lasts from Nov.27 to Nov. 30, and the store offers deals in every department. Macy’s has sales on clothes, jewelry, kitchen supplies, Christmas decorations, linens, and toys.

“I like going to Brooklynn’s because their clothes are very nice. At Macy’s, I like to go to Clinique and buy their makeup.” Olivia Lambert, freshman, said.

Whatever one’s Christmas list contains, there are multiple venues available to fulfill those needs. Risk the chaos of Black Friday shopping to get Christmas gifts at very merry prices.
